Christmas Gift Idea

I know...it's hard to believe that time is here again!!!!  I know many of you are probably like myself and have that one person who is always difficult to buy for.  You want to do something original that really shows how much they mean to you, but can't find that perfect gift.  Here is an idea that will be sure to blow them away!!!  Commission a painting of themselves, family members, pets, new home, anything that is important to them.  Many people think commissioning artwork means committing your year's salary, but you don't have to.  I recently attended a meeting where Art Gallery Originals presented their services and showed samples of their paintings.  They are really great, and the quality of the art is amazing.  All you need is a photograph to get started, and Art Gallery Originals will take care of the rest at a very reasonable price!  You don't have to pay tens of thousands of dollars for an original oil painting.  They have a team of very skilled artists who will turn your photograph into an oil painting that will "WOW" everyone who sees it!  Grandmothers love portraits of the grandchildren, and all moms love portraits of the kids, and pet lovers are all about their pets!  You can't go wrong with this truly unique gift that will impress even the hardest to buy for family member.  I have included some photo examples of paintings they have completed below.  They sell to the trade only, so if you are interested or know someone who may be, contact me for information.

Annual Parade of Homes Shows Growth in Our Market | Rolesville Buzz

Check out the great article in the Rolesville Buzz! It really showcases the neighborhood "Majestic Oaks" in Wake Forest which my husband is a partner on the development corporation, Willfair, Inc. I am so proud of them! They have done a great job with the neighborhood development! It is the hottest place to live in Wake Forest!!! We had 2 homes to sell during the parade and several pre-sales on available lots! If you know anyone looking to build, send them our way. It is a great family-oriented neighborhood in a great location, and all the builders are custom home builders. They have built beautiful homes and they are all unique!

Wow, Where Has the Summer Gone????!!!!

As I am finishing up the last few sentences of my final article in the "Decorating for the Seasons" series I have been writing in the Circa magazine, I am realizing that I forgot to post the link to my last article: "Decorating for the Seasons: From Spring to Summer in a Snap."  Though the summer has flown by and has been scorching hot, there are still a few weeks left.  There is still time to incorporate some of my easy, inexpensive decorating ideas into your interior decor.  You don't have to spend a lot of time or money, in fact you can easily incorporate some of the artifacts and memories collected while on your family vacations.  Follow the link below to read my current article in the Circa magazine online, or stop by the local shopping centers, nail and hair salons, or the usual place you visit to pick up the current issue before they are gone and replaced by the fall issue.  Hopefully I have inspired you to freshen up your decor whether it be one room or your whole house!  Follow the link below!

Enjoy!

Budget-Friendly Decorating

Decorating a space doesn't have to cost a fortune. This space started as a blank slate. The only thing this client had in this space before I came in was the floor lamp between the two slipper chairs and the honeycomb window blinds. I completed this space for her at a total cost of just around $2200 including the soft window treatments.

Market Time!

It's Market week in High Point!  My favorite time of year is Spring Market.  I get to see all the new trends and styles that will be hitting the showroom floors of your favorite furniture and accessory retailers.  It's quite overwhelming, but so much fun!  I'm off to Market on Thursday.  It's the last day, and the best day to find great deals on sample sales.  If anyone has a specific piece they are looking for, let me know and I'll be on the lookout!

Home Show

The Raleigh Southern Ideal Home Show was a huge success!  I worked with Premier Carpentry to create their display, and it won 2nd Place for Best in Show inside the Dorton Arena!  The outdoor living and landscaping section in the Dorton Arena was really great this year!  There were lots of wonderful displays and outdoor living ideas.  I hope everyone who came out enjoyed the show!

Home Show Update

The Southern Ideal Home Show is really taking shape!  I'm going to be there Thursday adding the final touches to the Premier Carpentry booth in the outdoor living area located in the Dorton Arena.  We are very excited to show off our work, both carpentry and design!  The Interior Design Society's Attic Sale is going to be great as well.  I saw a photo of the sale items so far and I already see some things I would love!  Be sure to come out and check it out!

Southern Ideal Home Show

Be sure to come out to the Southern Ideal Home Show at the Fairgrounds in Raleigh next weekend!  The Interior Design Society will once again have their very famous Attic Sale in the Exhibition Center.  You'll be able to find great furniture and accessories at really good deals!  The Attic Sale is a chance for local interior designers and decorators to sale furniture and accessories they have that they weren't able to use for a project and couldn't return to the vendor.  I'll be working Friday afternoon and Sunday early afternoon.  Also, during the Attic Sale, there is a "Consult" area set up where members offer free decorating advice on the spot!  So don't forget to write down that decorating question or problem that has been nagging you and bring it to one of the designers in the consult area to have it answered!

Reflecting Images

I have a fairly large mirror to hang this weekend. So, I figured I would take this time to share a tip on hanging mirrors. Make sure your mirror is reflecting a pleasurable image. No one wants to look at the cobwebs on the ceiling! You should always hang a mirror somewhere that the reflection will be worth looking at, for example...hang a mirror on a wall opposite a window so that it will reflect the scene from outside the window, but don't hang a mirror in the powder room so that it reflects the toilet - no one wants to look at the toilet!

V-Day Gift Idea

Ok guys...Valentine's Day is only 3 weeks away! If you need a great gift idea, give her a gift certificate for a redesign of your family/living room or master bedroom! If you're willing to help out with the "heavy lifting," you can get a re-design package for $150/room! I can even come in and help you stage the perfect romantic night at home! You can even surprise her more by booking a redesign to be completed one day while she is at work.
